Hello, I lost almost all data on my Sandisk Cruzer flash drive. When my computer froze, I decided to pull out my flash and all the data on it is gone! I had 8G of documents and pictures on it. I WILL DIE IF I can’t get them back!!! Can someone help me please?
If you have not used or formatted your Cruzer flash drive and it is still recognized by your computer, it is possible to recover files from your Cruzer USB. You will need a USB recovery program to recover data from computer or external storage device.
Recoverit Data Recovery for Windows, or Recoverit Data Recovery for Mac is highly recommended to solve this Cruzer data loss problem. This software helps you to recover almost all Cruzer USB files including photos, videos, documents, audios, archives and more. The Cruzer recovery tool also allows to preview the found files before the recovery.
Download the trial version of Recoverit Cruzer Data Recovery tool to recover files from Cruzer USB.
We will use the Windows version of Recoverit Cruzer Recovery as an example. If you are a Mac user, please download the Mac version and read the Mac Version Guide. Launch Recoverit Cruzer Recovery on your computer and connect your Cruzer USB to your computer. Follow the next simple solution to perform USB data recovery.
Step 1. Select the file types you want to recover from your Cruzer USB. As you can see from the image below, you can select photos, audios, videos, office documents, emails or all file types. After selecting the file type you want to recover, click the "Start” button.
Step 2. Select your Cruzer USB to scan files. The program will ask you to select a drive to scan the data, you just need to select the drive letter of your Cruzer USB and click "Start" to scanning lost files.
Step 3. If you can't find your lost data from USB, you can go to deep scan which will help you deeply search complete folder structure. It will take more time but it is efficient for formatted recovery
Step 4. Preview and recover lost files from your Cruzer USB. You can preview found files from files types listed on the interface. After selecting files you want to recover, you can click “Recover” to save them to your local hard drive or other storage devices.
Note: Please do not save the recovered files to your Cruzer USB again during the process. Otherwise, the recovery may fail.
1. It is easy to recover deleted or lost files from your Cruzer USB if the data is not overwritten.
2. When you realize that you have lost a file, stop using the Cruzer USB. This increases the chances of recovering the lost files.
Due to macOS High Sierra (macOS 10.13) requirement, Mac users are not allowed an access to the built-in system drive from any apps. Therefore, if you need to restore lost data from the system disk under macOS 10.13, please "disable System Integrity Protection" first.
How to disable "System Integrity protection"? Please follow the steps below.
Step 1Reboot the Mac and hold down"Command + R" keys simultaneously after you hear the startup chime, this will boot OS X into Recovery Mode.
Step 2When the "OS X Utilities" screen appears, pull down the "Utilities" menu at the top of the screen instead, and choose "Terminal".
Step 3In the "Terminal" window, type in "csrutil disable" and press "Enter" then restart your Mac.
