Can You Recover Deleted Creator Videos When the Only Copy Is on OnlyFans or Fansly?

Yes, sometimes—but the platform copy and the deleted local file are two different recovery paths. Recoverit cannot scan OnlyFans or Fansly servers. If your own uploaded copy is still visible in the platform account, first use any official creator-side access or support option available there. If you cannot export that copy, stop writing new data to the local drive where the original video was deleted and recover from that drive instead.

That is the exact problem behind this r/CreatorsAdvice case: the creator had accidentally deleted part of their local content library and wanted to pull their own uploads back from OnlyFans or Fansly so they could post them elsewhere.

Do Not Treat a Viewable Platform Copy as a Local Backup

On Fansly, uploaded media is stored in the creator's Media Vault, but Fansly's current help documentation also says media on the platform cannot be downloaded. That means seeing your video in the Vault does not automatically give you an exportable original file. Check the Fansly Media Vault guidance and the platform's current media download policy before assuming the server copy can replace your deleted local master.

For OnlyFans, use the creator account and official support routes available to you rather than treating third-party downloaders or scraping tools as a recovery method. A local recovery program can only scan storage that your computer can actually access; it cannot retrieve a file directly from a platform's private server.

If the Original Was Deleted From a Readable Drive, Preserve That Drive

If the missing MP4, MOV, or other creator video was deleted from a computer drive, external drive, USB device, or memory card that is still readable, stop saving new content to that storage. New writes can overwrite the deleted data that a recovery scan would need.

For a readable local source, Recoverit Video Recovery can scan the storage for deleted or lost video files. Preview recoverable results when possible, then save recovered videos to a different drive rather than back to the original source.

Choose the Recovery Path
  • The platform copy is still accessible: check the platform's own creator access or support path first.
  • The platform copy cannot be exported, but the original local drive is readable: preserve the drive and scan it before creating or copying more files onto it.
  • The local data has already been overwritten or securely erased: software may not be able to reconstruct the deleted original, so the platform copy may be the only surviving usable version.

The key is not to confuse “I can still view the upload” with “I still have the original file.” Protect the local storage first, because that is the only part of this situation a local data-recovery tool can actually scan.
