How to Set a Gif as a Live Wallpaper on Your iPhone

The live wallpaper feature introduced with the iPhone 6s has been one of the easiest ways to customize the lock screen and the home screen on your device. But sometimes creating your own live wallpaper can be very difficult, not to mention time-consuming. The next best option in this case is to use Gif as live wallpaper. And in this article, we take a look at how you can do that easily.

How to set gif as wallpaper iPhone?

To set a Gif as a Live Wallpaper on your iPhone, follow these very simple steps;

Step 1: The first step is looking for the Gif you want to use. The best place to find a great one is GILPHY. But there are several things you need to keep in mind when selecting the Gif you would like to use, including the following;

• Choose a Gif that is vertical since the iPhone's wallpaper is vertical. This will save you a lot of time cropping the Gif.
• Choose a Gif whose still frame looks great. Live Wallpapers are often still for longer than they are animated and you want to make sure the image will look great both as a still frame and as a Gif.
• Most Gifs are often low quality and if you want your live wallpaper to look great, you may have to spend some time looking for a high-quality Gif.

Step 2: Once you have your preferred Gif, open it, and then tap on the three dots at the bottom right corner of the screen. In the options presented, select "Convert to Live Photo"

Step 3: You should see two options; "Save as Live Photo (Full Screen)" and "Save as Live Photo (Fit to Screen". Select the option you want, keeping in mind that "Full Screen" will crop the Gif so it fits the entire screen and the live photo will be saved on to your device.

Step 4: Now go to Settings > Wallpaper > Choose Wallpaper

Step 5: Select "Live Photos" and choose the live photo you have just created from the Gif. Place the Gif just how you want it to appear on the screen, and then tap "Set". You can also choose whether you want the wallpaper to appear on the Lock Screen, the Home Screen, or both.
