If you connect your PS2 memory card with your computer and it is displayed as a drive letter, you can possibly recover deleted files from PS2 memory card by using third-party software. My recommendation is Recoverit or Recoverit for Mac. It is really effective to recover PS2 memory card data with Recoverit, no matter what files are lost due to accidental deletion, formatting or even system error.
Free download Recoverit to recover data from your PS2 memory card. To get a better recovery result, please do not put any new data into your PS2 memory card when you know that files are lost.
Here we take Recoverit for Windows as an example. If you are using a Mac, please download the Mac version and refer to the guide: SD card recovery on Mac. Now, connect your PS2 memory card to the computer, launch Recoverit and follow these steps.
Step 1 Select a data recovery mode
To recover deleted files from PS2 memory card, you can select "External Devices Recovery" to start the process.
Step 2 Select your PS2 memory card
Here the program will list all partitions of your computer as well as the connected storage devices. You just need to select your PS2 memory card and click "Start".
Step 3 Scan the PS2 Memory Card
A quick scan will automatically start on your PS2 memory card. After it, if you still find nothing required, you can turn to "All-Around Recovery" mode which will take more time to search more files.
Step 4 Recover detected and selected files
After the scan, all found files in your PS2 memory card will all be listed according to their file types or original paths. You can preview the detected files, select the ones you want to recover and then click on "Recover" to get them back. In addition, you can also recover Multimedia Card with it.
Note: Please do not put the recovered files back to your PS2 memory card during the process.
1 Please back up your PS2 memory card data properly. It is highly suggested to back up PS2 memory card data in your computer in case data might lose again.
2 Recoverit offers you a free version to check whether files detected by the software are recoverable or not and allow 100MB files to be recovered for free.
